Helping me, helping you, aha

Please help me to better understand why you’re here and what you most need help with
A short and sweet newsletter this week. It’s going out a day late, too. Whoops.
I turned on paid subscriptions. There’s been some great discussions about the minefield that is asking people to pay for your writing: here and here.
This is how I’m thinking about it.
Firstly, I want to put writing and creativity first, I’m not a natural business person, but the ability to make an income from this space has me feeling a little bit curious and a bit excited. So I’m following those feelings.
This free newsletter is for folks who want a weekly dose of thought-provoking/ inspirational content, but they’re not looking to invest more time and money to work on their own creative freedom in a more focused way.
Which is great. Not everyone wants, needs or is able to dive deeper into their creative journey.
I’m now also offering paid content for those of you who would like some gentle creative projects to get involved with, some community (once enough of you become paid subscribers) and tools to navigate creative block and tune into your inner creative compass. But without the high price tag of 1-to-1 coaching.
So I came up with a plan.
As of April 2023, as a paid subscriber you’ll get the following:
Poetic Pauses aka writing prompts - these are usually based on a poem or short piece of writing that I love. They’re designed both to help you nurture your writing practice AND make peace with your imperfect humanity. Because the two things go together!
Creative Release aka creative activities and prompts - these may be writing activities, or they may be more active or creative in nature. Think of it as self-care for your creative life.
Courageous Writer Book Club - The book club is starting in May 2023 and we’ll be working through The Artist’s Way over the next 12 months. Which is a slow yummy pace of one chapter per month. Because slow and steady wins the race!
But then as I was lying in bed mulling over my plan (as I’m wont to do) I realised that I should ASK YOU what kind of content you’d be interested in!
If no one wants a book club that works through the Artist’s Way over the course of a whole year, then I won’t be helping you by creating it!
So, if you’re here and you’re reading and you might have a small amount of time and money to invest in your creativity over the coming year, PLEASE take a couple of moments to answer this poll.
Ready to dive in and get started? The Artist’s Way book club is scheduled to start next week!
You can check it out with a free trial, if you’re not sure if it’s for you or not:
